Worship at Church

Join us on Sundays at 10:00 am

It’s a blessing to gather together to worship God, and we’d love to have you join us on Sunday. We love having visitors and want you to feel comfortable here. Read on for answers to questions you may have about services here at St. Peter.

How should I dress?

There is no dress code! On any given Sunday, you will see people wearing casual shoes or heels, jeans or suits, and open collars or ties.

What about my kids?

Kids of all ages are welcome at St. Peter. On the second and fourth Sundays of the month, children are invited forward during the service for a short children’s message. Send your children up or watch from your seat.

If you need a quiet place for you and your little one, two nursery rooms are available for use. You can see and hear the service from these kid-friendly areas.

What is the service like?

As you enter, you will receive a service folder (bulletin) which outlines the service. In each service, we hear God’s word, pray together, and sing songs of praise. Our pastor helps us dig deeper into God’s Word through a sermon message, which is about 20 minutes long. Want to see first hand how we worship? Watch our worship online at our Livestream site.

What are Connection Cards?

You’ll find a “Connection Card” in our service folder (bulletin). Please fill it out so that we can learn more about you and know how to serve you in the future.

What about the offering?

Offerings support the mission and ministry of St. Peter in Modesto and in ministries around the world. As a visitor, please do not feel obligated to give an offering.

Do you celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion)?

We love to celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a church family. The Bible tells us that those who take Communion together are to:

  • Recognize that Christ’s true body and blood are present in the Sacrament (1 Cor. 11:29),
  • Examine themselves as Scripture instructs (1 Cor. 11:28), and
  • Be one in faith and belief with the congregation with which they commune (1 Cor. 10:17).

To follow God’s guidance in His Word, we ask everyone to take our Membership Class before communing at St. Peter.

I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” – Psalm 122:1
